Contract Physical Therapist
Position: Locum Contract Physical Therapist – 3 Mornings per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Term: 12 weeks, July 8-September 27, 2019
Shifts: Shifts will include 3 mornings per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) for approximately 18 booking hours. The position will allow for the absorption of an already existing patient caseload.
Hawkstone Physical Therapy is an established and thriving physical therapy clinic, where positive patient outcomes are the number one priority. We are looking for a positive, outgoing, motivated and dynamic individual to join our team.
We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist for 3 mornings per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) with approximately 18 booking hours/week. There is also locum coverage available to pick up additional shifts if desired.
The caseload primarily consists of private paying and MVA patients, however WCB, AHS and Ortho clientele are also treated. The clinic serves patients seeking treatment for a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, with a strong concentration on sports injuries, spinal conditions, post-surgical rehab and MVA injuries.
The job duties include assessment of musculoskeletal patients, creation and implementation of a comprehensive treatment plan, and thorough documentation and charting. Certification in spinal manipulation, acupuncture and/or IMS would be a considerable asset. Knowledge and interest in exercise prescription is required. The ability to develop strong patient rapport is also necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor/Masters degree of Science in Physical Therapy
Good standing with the College of Physical Therapists
Experience with an orthopaedic caseload and desire to provide comprehensive care
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team player attitude with a strong understanding of time management and multi-tasking
This position is ideal for a physical therapist who is interested in working in a busy clinic alongside experienced PTs (AP, IMS, FCAMT certified) in a team environment with a motivated patient population. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new or recent grad who has an interest in further education and mentorship. The successful candidate must value comprehensive patient care.
